Mika SHIMOTSUKI

The main problem that at least I personally have with this character is the simple fact that even after being shown that the system that she has grown up with and basically thinks is perfect is actually intrinsically flawed. She doesn't seem to be able to grasp the enormity of such a thing.

yes, at the end of season one it is quite tragic. What happened to her because of the loss of one of her friends. But at the same time, I don't quite understand why her personality went through such an extreme shift between the end of season one and the beginning of season two. Now I understand that the loss of a friend or a loved one and all that can have very deep and a long lasting effects on a person's personality.

But even so, she continuously be rates her direct superior. Regularly questions, her methods. And basically just generally makes things let's just say extremely hostile. It also doesn't help matters that she sees the enforcers at least the majority of them as a little more than tools. She barely even acknowledges that they're human beings.

And again, even after being shown the truth, her mentality doesn't seem to change if anything it gets worse. If I remember correctly in the film version, she actually goes And completely circumvent, proper procedure and ends up doing something to one of the prisoners that if I ever correctly, literally results in the individual becoming a vegetable.

it's quite tragic. She was such a sweet girl during the bit where she was still in school. But it seems that the loss of her friend and I think girlfriend. Really deeply scarred her. I don't really think she deserves quite the level of hatred that the fandom gives her. But, I could definitely understand why so many people have such a low opinion of her. 

It feels like Akane is the lawful side of the Sybil system whereas she is the corrupt/evil side. That's clever writing.

i hated her in the 2nd season... ig she portrays lots of rotten side us human has. she is jealous of Akane-chan and she's basically a puppet of the Sybil system - bc she is afraid of her psycho-pass turning dark. and someone before my comment said that she's a hypocrite and yes, she is but who isn't?. she contributed to bad things to happen and instead of accepting the blame and carry on she just tries to blame another person instead. i hate her but she is quite pitiful in a way.

She doesn't deserve all this hate, like yeah the girl is indeed annoying with poor life choices, but still just the victim of the system and it's brainwashing

She is perfect - in the worst way. In the beginning she was the girl, who didn´t trust to Rikako Oryo (Idk how to write it). It was clever... she survived. And it was the moment when I thought "hm, I like that".  I think that she has similar trauma like Akane- their besties were murdered in really bad way. But Akane got out of it. Akane was supported by her co-workers and she belives in people from very beginning. In Mika´s case it´s opposite- she started to be totally obsesed with Sibyla- for her it´s only one solution for better world. And Mika became maniac (all of villians in the whole PP are more fair than Mika). Since the second season it looks like a big conflict between the two women. And I hope that we will see it. 
I really like developing of her character - she is evil hypocrite and that´s perfect for this perfect world where the story is set
